NRBz Fitting – How to Use Ear Buds

To insert NRBz position one arm behind your head and pull your ear gently, but firmly, up and away from your head. Use your free hand to fit in the NRB until you feel it close off your ear canal.

Don’t worry about crushing the soft outer end of the NRB, it will spring back into shape. When the NRB is properly fitted, the last flange should be inside your ear to form a complete pressure seal within your ear canal. If you cannot achieve this seal, do not use the product.

TESTING THE FIT

The Tug Test: Pull very gently back and forth on the NRB. If there is resistance and you feel a gentle suction in your ear, then the NRB has achieved a seal. If the plug pulls out easily a good seal was not achieved.

The Hum Test: After you place one NRB, hum or say “aahhh”. If the ear is properly sealed, then the sound of your voice will seem louder in that ear. If your voice does not seem louder, a seal was not achieved. Repeat the process for both ears. If your voice sounds equally loud in both ears, then the NRBz have probably achieved a seal. If your voice is louder in one ear than the other, a good seal was not achieved in the ear in which your voice was not as loud.

NRBz Life Span

NRBz inserts have a life span of up to 6 months or more when used as directed and the cleaning process is followed.

DO NOT PUSH ANYTHING THROUGH THE NRB

NRB’z function depends on a thin film going across the filter inside the insert. This filter is located down by the end where the NRB enters your ear. If the internal film is damaged, NRB will not work, and will not protect against dangerous sound levels. In that event you must not use the damaged NRB. If in doubt, do not use a NRB that you suspect to be damaged.

Cleaning NRBz

NRBz is a reusable ear insert. If your NRB gets dirty, gently wash it in warm, soapy water and rinse it in warm water. Lay it on a towel or absorbent material to drain and dry.
