Patrick Bertagna

Founder, CEO and Chairman

Patrick Bertagna is a serial entrepreneur, inventor and thought leader in the wearable technology and IoMT industry with 35+ years in creating, building and selling technology and consumer product companies. Since 2002, Mr. Bertagna has been the founder, Chairman and CEO of GTX Corp, a pioneer in the wearable technology and IoMT industry, and the inventor of over a dozen and co-inventor of over 2 dozen GPS, footwear technology and communication protocol patents currently held in the GTX IP portfolio. Mr. Bertagna has been responsible for overseeing all aspects of GTX Corp from its startup vision to product commercialization, funding to go to market strategies, distribution, M&A, military contract negotiations, IP licensing and taking the Company public in 2008 adding corporate governance of a public entity to his responsibilities.

Mr. Bertagna also sits on the SafeAmerica Board and JBF Board which engages in philanthropic initiatives around the world, empowering women and children living in impoverished and underdeveloped communities by enabling food security; promoting access to education and cultural exchanges; assisting in medical aid and disaster relief; while building and promoting peace and a proud member of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC).

Mr. Bertagna began his career in 1983, while still attending college, in apparel sales and within 2 years was promoted to national sales manager and had 9 salespeople reporting to him. In 1986 Mr. Bertagna founded his first company importing apparel from Europe with sales shortly exceeding $27 million, selling to U.S. retailers from JC Penny’s to Neiman Marcus. Between 1987 to 1993 Patrick founded several manufacturing and import/export companies for clothing, accessories and footwear conducting business in over 20 countries and was one of the founding partners in a ERP software company which created an apparel information management software application called AIMS, which is still in business today with thousands of customers across the U.S. Mr. Bertagna sold his interest in that software company in 1993 and founded another software company Barcode World, Inc. a supply chain management application company, enabling the accurate tracking of consumer products from design to retail distribution. Within four years the company had over 450 premier branded accounts with a staff of 40 plus in the U.S., Eastern Europe and India. After selling his company in 2002 Mr. Bertagna then combined his two past careers (consumer products and tracking technology) and founded GTX Corp.

Mr. Bertagna was born in the South of France, grew up in Beverly Hills California, and attended Cal State University Northridge, with a business major and psychology minor. Throughout his career he has conducted business in over 20 countries, lived in several countries, including France, Hungry and Colombia and is fluent in French and Spanish. He has formed alliances with Fortune 500 companies such as IBM, T-Mobile, EE, Verizon, AT&T, Google, Federated Stores, Netscape and GE; and has been a keynote speaker at numerous industry trade shows and conferences, and has spoken at the United Nations General Assembly. Mr. Bertagna is an avid skier, passionate about art, food, wine and travel and lives in Los Angles with his wife.

Louis Rosenbaum

Director, Vice President, Operations & Finance

Louis Rosenbaum is currently the Chief Operating Officer of GTX Corp. Mr. Rosenbaum started full time with GTX Corp six years ago as the Vice President of Operations & Finance. Mr. Rosenbaum was promoted to COO in October 2019. His current responsibilities include overseeing the financial aspects of the company including accounting, bookkeeping, all digital financial transactions, and working with the CFO. In addition, Mr. Rosenbaum manages Human Resources, Supply Chain Management, and Corporate Governance along with interfacing with all government contracts, registration and billing with the Navy, U.S. Senate, Army, U.S.D.A., Veterans Administration, U.S. Air Force along with other government agencies GTX supports. Mr. Rosenbaum also serves on the Audit Committee and is a Director on the Board. Mr. Rosenbaum works in tandem with the CEO, and consults on daily operations and all phases of planning for the future. Mr. Rosenbaum is a co-founder of Global Trek Xploration and was an initial investor in the company in 2002. Prior to joining GTX, Mr. Rosenbaum successfully started companies in multiple industries (Wearing Apparel, Environmental Services, music industry) achieving annual revenues in the multi million dollars. Mr. Rosenbaum was President of Elements, a women’s wearing apparel company that was showcased in Macy’s, Nordstrom’s, and Neiman Marcus. As President of Advanced Environmental Services, Mr. Rosenbaum managed projects that included waste disposal of hazardous & nonhazardous soils for The Gap Headquarters, the San Francisco land tower of the Bay Bridge, the renovation of the San Francisco International Terminal, Bechtel San Francisco Headquarters and Moscone III Convention Center. Mr. Rosenbaum is a true community leader and has served in multiple civic capacities. Mr. Rosenbaum was the treasure of the Stinson Beach Pre-School (1982-1985) was the co-coordinator for the Stinson Beach​ Village Association (1985-1990) an elected member of the Stinson Beach Water District (1990-1994), sat on the Presidio Restoration Board (1997-2000), was a block captain for the Mill Valley Neighborhood Response Team (2004 – 2014), is currently a block captain for the Valley Emergency Response Group (2020 -present) and is the treasurer of the San Geronimo Valley Affordable Housing Association (2020-present) Mr. Rosenbaum raised six children and has four grandchildren.

Andrew Duncan

Director, Secretary, President of Business Development

Andrew Duncan has been working in the consumer electronics, mobile, media content streaming and technology licensing business for over 25 years; living and working in various countries in Europe as well as the U.S. where he currently resides. He has gained extensive experience in all aspects of business development, marketing, IP licensing and digital content distribution. In 2000 he founded Global TechLink, a technology consultancy company, specializing in licensing, business development and management on a local and global basis, including OTT, Digital Streaming and Content, Mobile, LBS and Consumer Electronics. Mr. Duncan currently runs Global TechLink as well as MAGLA Entertainment, a successful Content Distribution company established in 2016 to deliver Movies and TV content to the major Chinese Media companies like China Mobile and Shanghai Media Group. He also serves on the board of GTX Corp, a public company and leader in wearable technology, where he also heads up business development and I.P. management worldwide.  
From 2007 to 2010 he was the founder and CEO of ClearPlay International, based in London and Paris where he raised $4 Million and signed worldwide contracts with companies like LG and Samsung for consumer electronics products and other VOD deals for the Middle East market. From 1994 to 2001, Mr. Duncan worked as Vice President Consumer Electronics for Gemstar TV Guide International (now called Rovi). His responsibilities included product development, business management, licensing and marketing a portfolio of multimedia licensed features including the highly successful VCRPlus+ and Electronic Program Guide – TVGuidePlus+. Both technologies are highly successful standards within the home Entertainment industry that still bring in many hundreds of millions of dollars in annual licensing revenue. He worked directly for Mr. Henry Yuen (President and CEO of Gemstar) having been invited by him to join the company from Thomson Multimedia (now Technicolor). Mr. Duncan lived and worked for TMM from1987 to1994 in Germany, France and his native U.K. in various Pan –European marketing and global product development roles. He has a deep experience of business relations and markets in the U.S., Europe and Asia. Mr. Duncan earned his honors degree in Chemistry from Nottingham University and postgraduate qualifications in Marketing and Direct Marketing from London University (Kings College) and UCLA Anderson School of Business in Los Angeles. He has been awarded a number of patents; recently two in the area of wearable GPS and BLE based tracking devices embedded in footwear.

Alex G. McKean

Chief Financial Officer

Alex McKean was appointed as our Chief Financial Officer in 2015, previously he was our Interim Chief Financial Officer since October 2011. He is also the Chief Financial Officer of Encore Brands, Inc., a position he has held since October 2009. Previous to that, he acted as an independent management consultant under his own firm, SGT Enterprises, Inc., as well as an independent contractor with various firms. Before establishing his own firm, during 2004-2007, Mr. McKean was with Parson Consulting working in strategy, financial modeling, SEC filings, process management, and Sarbanes Oxley, for companies such as: Citibank, Arvin Meritor, Ecolab, Key Energy and Allied Building Products, to name a few. Mr. McKean has held positions as a Controller and VP of Finance at 24:7 Film from 2002-2004, VP of Finance at InternetStudios.com from 2000-2002, Director of FP&A/SVP at Franchise Mortgage Acceptance Company from 1998-2000, as Corporate Accounting Manager/Treasurer of Polygram Filmed Entertainment from 1996-1998 and Assistant Treasurer/Controller for State Street Bank from 1989-1996. Mr. McKean holds an International MBA from Thunderbird’s School of Global Management and undergraduate degrees in Business and Political Science and minors in International Affairs and Asian History from Trinity University.

Andrew Carle is an award winning professor and Executive-in-Residence and Founding Director of the Program in Senior Housing Administration at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. The program offers the first curricula in the nation dedicated exclusively to the rapidly growing senior housing field. Mr. Carle brings nearly 30 years executive level experience to the program, including serving as a founding executive for a national Top 10 senior housing provider, for whom he developed both first generation operating systems and first-in-industry ancillary service programs. Prior to senior housing Mr. Carle served as a hospital CEO, COO, and Director of Strategic Planning and Marketing for vertically-integrated healthcare systems. Mr. Carle has received national and international recognition for identifying and defining a new category of senior housing – University Based Retirement Communities (UBRC’s)™, as well as a definition and categories for “Nana” Technology™ (technologies for older adults). His work has been featured or cited in or on CBS News, CNN, NPR, TIME, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, USA TODAY, and U.S. News & World Report, among others; internationally in BBC News, Agence France-Presse, KYODO News Service, the Australian Broadcast Corporation; and in more than 200 senior housing and aging services industry publications. His book, “Moments, Memories, and Mission: Stories from the Field of Assisted Living”, received a Silver Award during the 15th Annual National Mature Market Media competition. He is the recipient of a “Best of the Best in Aging Services” Award from Aging News Alert, the “Leaders in Aging – Mentor Award” from the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare, and “Senior Faculty – Master Teacher Award” from the George Mason University College of Health and Human Services. Focused on actionable intelligence, connecting data and content across the enterprise for marketing, partnership and product development, Theresa specializes in identifying social solutions across industry verticals. Lynette Louise MS, BCN, BCN-T is an international mental health and parenting expert, specializing in autism. She is a speaker, author, performer, popular podcast host, neurofeedback &; autism expert, and creator/host/therapist for the international docu-series FIX IT IN FIVE with LYNETTE LOUISE aka THE BRAIN BROAD, now showing on The Autism Channel. Host and creator of the popular podcast A New Spin on Autism: Answers! Tony Davis is an accomplished CEO and advisor of venture backed, high growth technology and consumer products companies. Over the past 18 years, he has had extensive, hands-on experience, working with CEO’s, Boards and Investor groups creating business strategies, developing go-to-market plans, building teams, raising capital, and helping facilitate liquidity events and M&A transactions. John Carroll is a founder and Chairman of the AF Group a key supplier to GTX. John arrived in the United States to attend Columbia University Graduate School of Business where he obtained his MBA in 1973. He joined A.D. Little, an international consulting company, where he focused on financial controls and strategic planning. After working with one of their clients for over 11 years he started his own business which led eventually to the AF Group with plastic processing facilities in the United States, India and Vietnam. John has served on the boards on a number of private and public companies over the years.
Mr. Henneman is outside patent counsel to GTX Corp and serves on the Company’s board of advisors. He is admitted to the State Bar of California and the State Bar of Michigan. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a registered patent attorney. Mr. Henneman received his Juris Doctorate degree from Wayne State University in 1994. Since receiving his law degree, he has worked in the field of patent law. His practice has focused primarily on patent prosecution, but also includes significant litigation and licensing experience. Although spending the first several years of his legal career at large international law firms, Mr. Henneman and a partner formed their own patent law firm in 1999, where Mr. Henneman served as the managing partner. Mr. Henneman has provided and continues to provide patent counsel to a wide variety of clients ranging from individual inventors to start-up companies to multi-billion dollar international corporations. Representative current clients include Flextronics International, Apple Computer, Aurora Systems, Technology Properties Limited, Indigita, and foreign law firms seeking U.S. patent protection for their clients. Mr. Henneman has achieved a success rate of nearly 90% in obtaining patents on his clients’ inventions. Mr. Henneman is active with the inventor community. He has lectured at the Central Valley Inventors’ Association. He also provides pro bono patent prosecution services for child inventors through the Inventors Alliance of Northern California.
Mr. O’Connell has extensive operating experience running and repositioning companies, as well as leading turnaround initiatives. He most recently served as CEO and Chairman of the Board for Indian Motorcycle. Previously, Mr. O’Connell was Chairman, President and CEO of Gibson Greetings, Inc. Mr. O’Connell has led other branded companies including Reebok, HBO Video and Skybox International. He spent the first 14 years of his career running food companies and developing brands. He is known for strategic thinking, brand building, breakthrough marketing and new product ideas. He currently sits on the advisory board and strategic planning committee of GTXC, sits on the board of two public companies Radica games LTD and TreeHouse Foods Inc. and is co-founder of Tuckerman Capital. He serves on the Advisory Boards of the Johnson Graduate School of Management, the Personal Enterprise Program, and the Undergraduate Business Program at Cornell University, where he earned his B.S. in Economics and his M.B.A.
Dr. Amelio has over 35 years high technology experience, 26 years of P&L management and 6 years of venture Capital experience. He was Chairman and CEO of Apple Computer, President of Rockwell International, Chairman, President & CEO of National Semiconductor Corporation and Chairman and CEO of Jazz Technologies. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of AT&T Inc. Earlier in his career, Amelio worked at Bell Labs, Fairchild Semiconductor, and the semiconductor division of Rockwell International. He has also been a Senior Partner at Siena Ventures, a technology venture capital firm focused on semiconductors, photonics and IT infrastructure investments. He has been a Director of Pacific Telesis, Chiron, Sematech, the Georgia Tech Advisory Board (as chairman) and the American Film Institute. Dr. Amelio is a former Director and Chairman of the Semiconductor Industry Association. Since 1996 has been an advisor to the Malaysia’s Prime Minister and to the Malaysia Multimedia Super Corridor. Dr. Amelio received a bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. in physics from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is an IEEE Fellow and has been awarded 16 patents. He is the author of three books, An American Imperative (1993), Profit from Experience (1995) and On the Firing Line: My 500 Days at Apple (1998), the latter two of which were best sellers.
Jon Buttles is corporate finance executive with 20 years of experience supporting growing businesses as a commercial banker, investment banker, private equity investor, company founder and strategic advisor. Jon manages Core Venture Management, a privately held family office venture fund, and previously founded and ran Core Equity Group, a private investment manager and corporate finance consultancy. Jon is currently Chief Financial Officer of Cypress Creek Renewables, a utility scale solar developer, sponsor and owner based in Santa Monica, California. He is also a strategic corporate finance advisor to GTX Corp., Boldface Inc., PodNod and Owlstone. Jon is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
N. Darius Sankey, PhD is a general partner at Accelerate-IT Ventures, as well as a seasoned executive in the ventures capital and technology industries. Founded in 2013, AITV is a US-based venture capital firm with offices in San Francisco, La Jolla and London. AITV invest in early-stage and medium-growth IT software companies that demonstrate tremendous opportunities for growth. Dr. Sankey is also a Contract Managing Director responsible for the Innovation Management practice of Ocean Tomo, LLC, an integrated Intellectual Capital Merchant Banc™ firm providing an industry leading array of financial products and services related to intangible assets. In his joint role at AITV and Ocean Tomo Dr. Sankey takes on the responsibility of managing the development of new technology ecosystems. Ocean Tomo assists clients – corporations, law firms, governments and institutional investors – in realizing Intellectual Capital Equity® value. Ocean Tomo Capital, LLC – is the publisher of the Ocean Tomo 300® Patent Index (NYSE: OTPAT) and the founder of Intellectual Property Exchange International, Inc. Prior to joining Ocean Tomo and AITV, Dr. Sankey was the Senior Director of Portfolio Management at Intellectual Venture, where his responsibilities involved managing the Investment Strategy, acquisitions, divestitures and developing licensing programs for the Invention Investment Fund. Prior to Intellectual Ventures, Dr. Sankey served as a Managing Director at Zone Ventures, where he lead its technology assessment efforts and managed its portfolio investments for over ten years. While at Zone Ventures Dr. Sankey led several transactions in the micro electronics, wireless telecommunications, media & entertainment, and business & consumer software. He also served as a board member for several companies including Siimpel Corporation, Lumexis, Inc. and Microfabrica and Neven Vision (acquired by Google). Before his tenure at Zone Ventures, Dr. Sankey worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, Inc. and held strategic planning, consulting, and R&D positions at RAND and AT&T Bell Laboratories. Dr. Sankey is a lecturer at the Rady School of Business at the University of California – San Diego (UCSD). He has served on National Academy of Science Committees to study issues relating to managing university intellectual property, and the impact of optical technology on the national economy. He holds B.S. degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering from MIT and a Ph.D. in Optical Engineering from University of Rochester.
CEO and Founder Kiernan Group Holdings Dr. Kathleen Kiernan is the founder and CEO of KGH. She is a 29-year veteran of Federal Law Enforcement. She previously served as the Assistant Director for the Office of Strategic Intelligence and Information for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).
Dr. Kiernan is a recognized expert in strategic thinking, strategy development, and facilitating critical incident management exercises for senior leaders across government and private sector organizations. These include national and international level policies related to criminality and terrorism; Active Shooter/Active Threat; Insider Threat, unconventional threats impacting the warfighter; anomalous behavior detection; continuity of operations and crisis management and crisis communications. In addition, Dr. Kiernan has served as a SME for Risk Assessment and Gap Analysis efforts for some of our nation’s most critical assets. Dr. Kiernan is the recipient of a number of national awards to include the Women of Influence-Public Sector award; the American Security Today Platinum Award for Best Educational Program in Homeland Security in 2017, 2018, and 2019; and the Illinois Security Professionals Association Excellence in Emergency Management in 2019. Other highlights of Dr. Kiernan’s credentials include: Chair of InfraGard, now Emeritus, member of the Army Science Board, where she led a panel exploring the transition of law enforcement training and technology to the warfighter; member of the Air Force Strategic Studies Board; former Chair of the Domestic Intelligence Council for the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA); graduate of the FBI’s National Executive Institute (Class 26); and a Senior Fellow at the George Washington Homeland Security Policy Institute.
Dr. Kiernan is an adjunct faculty member of the Johns Hopkins School of Education and the Center for Homeland Defense and Security at the Naval Postgraduate School. She is also a member of the AFCEA Intelligence Committee, Co-Chair of the Business Executives for National Security (BENS) Resilience Council, and member of the ASIS International Academic Council. Kiernan is a member of the Advisory Board for the National Police Foundation Center for Mass Violence Response Studies and a member of the Advisory Board for the Center for Advanced Red Teaming at the University of Albany, SUNY and a member of the Advisory Board for GTX Corp.
