The rise of wearable technology took this years International CES show by storm. CES 2014 could have been called the "Wearable Tech" show. The "wearable tech" market is evolving quickly and by all accounts is the next big thing.
While many companies are now using it as the unavoidable catchphrase, GTX Corp has been pioneering wearable tech for over a decade along with building an extensive intellectual property portfolio in this category and is planning to unveil its new line of Wearables starting this quarter. Call it our wearable tech version 2.0 which will include a mix of GPS, Cellular, Bluetooth and NFC technologies embedded in consumer friendly products.
Aging and Long-Term Care Policy Report Recently sent to CONGRESS mentions the GTX Corp GPS Shoe!
Aging services technology study identifies available technologies for Cognitive Impairment and evidence of their benefits.
On page 69, (the GTX Corp's first flagship product), the GPS Shoe is identified as a solution and discusses GPS monitoring technology:
In addition to their utility in detecting cognitive impairment, activity-monitoring technologies have also been used among people with established cognitive deficits. One example of this application is among patients who engage in dangerous behaviors such as wandering and elopement (Altus et al., 2000). Monitoring technologies mitigate the risks associated with these behaviors by facilitating remote patient monitoring. This approach not only provides physical security to the patient, but it also provides emotional security to caregivers and reduces caregiver burden by allowing the caregiver to monitor a loved one from a location of their choosing. A variety of technologies can be employed in patient monitoring systems. These include global positioning systems (GPS), radio frequency (RF) transmitters, and cellular-based tracking devices. In one system, a GPS is embedded in shoes that allow the user's location to be tracked with a secure subscriber’s portal. Other systems integrate more than one technology to address these behaviors. Assisted GPS systems (AGPS), which combine GPS and cellular tracking functionalities, can provide greater accuracy, availability, and coverage than standard GPS (Djuknic and Richton, 2001).
LBN-INVESTIGATGES: In 1990, there were slightly more than 3 million Americans over the age of 85. Now there are almost 6 million. By 2050, there will be 19 million people - approaching 5% of the total population.
The numbers basically double every 20 years, creating an organic growth which increases the potential customers of GPS Shoes

Despite the fact that the personal location devices and applications market has been around for a number of years, it is still in the very early stages of development. The potential is huge, with a large available market, a clear benefit in the technology, and the potential of legislation as a major driver. The market has made progress, with many of the barriers around cellular M2M connectivity having come down, yet it remains hampered by fragmentation, high prices, and a lack of awareness. There is a consensus within the industry that the market is large enough to support hardware and smartphone applications. Many are now looking at ways to combine both. T raditional hardware vendors like GTX Corp and Connexion2 have launched their own applications, while application developers like Life360 are looking to use their huge installed base as a way to drive additional revenue through hardware.

Patrick Bertagna CEO: "There is widespread dependence on being "connected" to instantaneous, real-time information and examples of this are seen everyday through the greater numbers and usage of smartphones, PDA’s, the internet, e-mail, WiFi and social networks. Directly knowing the whereabouts of loved ones and/or colleagues affords a sense of control and peace of mind in today's increasingly hectic society. GPS Tracking technology provides timely knowledge which significantly reduces the levels of stress that go with the responsibility of watching out for loved ones or co-workers and the uncertainty of not knowing there whereabouts. Our innovative products, services and licensing approach, not only provide solutions consumers are demanding but also creating opportunities in the market place for today and well into tomorrow…." “This has become evident with our growing number of partners, customers, app downloads and countries in which we operate in.”
The rising need for GPS Tracking Apps and Solutions is influenced by several factors, among them:
• Ubiquitous awareness and expanding penetration of GPS and Mobile applications.
• Personal and asset security concerns affecting a greater portion of the population.
• Increasing numbers of elderly or memory impaired. (Alzheimer’s, Autism, etc. 6 million in U.S. and growing)
• Corporations needing to manage worker productivity and logistics.
• Local and government agencies, law enforcement, first responders and military personnel monitoring.
• Massive life style adoption of Location Based Social Networking

The Company has launched 4 Apps on iTunes and has a road map to launch several more by the end of the year in a series of geo-specific applications that transform iPhones into real time, GPS transceivers, utilizing some of the latest technological breakthroughs of the Apple 3.0 operating system. LOCiMOBILE, Inc. expects to release these services for other GPS enabled handsets in the near future and is currently developing more applications for the iPhone.
- Code Amber News Service, Inc. (“CANS”), a member of ONA (Online News Association) and RTNDA (Radio Television News Directors Association), is a U.S. and Canadian syndicator and content provider of all state Amber Alerts (public notifications of child abductions) and missing person alerts.
